The best area in the whole mission

Hey everyone, sorry it’s been a minute again.... this time we have been busy and I haven’t had a whole lot of time to write anyone haha

Things here have been going real good! Me and my boi Elder lesa have been blessed that’s all I gotta say! We honestly have the best area in the whole mission! This Sunday we where blessed to have 8 investigators at church! They are all doing good but no lie it’s kind of hard to keep track of all of them! But for real we got some super solid people that I a, excited to keep working with!

Other than that we have been crazy busy helping out other missionaries and what not! We have one of the only cars in our zone for elders and it’s a lot of driving but I love doing it because it helps me get to know the missionaries in my zone better!

We got to have a pday with the other Spanish zone in our mission and I got to see some old comps and it was real good to catch up with them!

Also we are in the best ward in the whole mish! The members here really care about the missionaries and they are soooo cool! I’m definitely gonna come back down and visit them!

I honestly can’t wait for general conference! I am excited to hear from president Nelson and find out who the next 2 apostles are going to be! I know they lead and guide us today and that Jesus Christ is at the head of this church! Love you all hope you have a great week!

Transferred to a Zone Leader...

Hey everyone, sorry it’s been a minute... no lie I have been to lazy to write a big letter haha but here I am 😊  Well I just found out that I am being transferred to Broadway 2 to be a zone leader with my boy Elder Lesa! This transfer bout to be lit!

Other than that me and Elder Eckhardt where doing really good together! The past 2 weeks we have had like 10 investigators combined at church and that was awesome to see! I’m really excited about this one dude Carlos. He is super chill and is willing to learn. We are teaching him both English and the good word and he is loving it! He has like a photographic memory and he loves to read so like our second lesson with him we asked about how he was doing with reading and he pretty much told us all of 1 Nephi, haha! He will get baptized for sure I know it!

We where able to do some service this past saturo. I now know how to put in a tile floor haha! Since the hurricane I have pretty much learned how to re model a house, so if your looking for someone let me know haha!

I just wanna say I probably ate the best burrito of my entire life at a taco truck owned by a member. It was the best thing I have ever had. I didn’t take a picture because I ate it too fast haha, but when I
come down and visit I will be going there to show y’all what real Hispanic food is not the crap from Taco Bell haha!

I love this gospel so much! I know the lord has a plan for each and every one of us! Although things might seem tough we just need to remember that our lord Jesus Christ has our back. He will be with
through thick and thin. I love him and his gospel! It has blessed my life so much and I am so grateful!

Thank you guys for everything you have done for me! Hope you all have a great week!

Super Bowl...

Yoo what's up. Sorry I haven’t written anything in a while. I am starting to loose patience with my iPad haha but it’s whatever. Things here have been really good!

Our investigators right now are doing really good! We have a part member family that we are working with right now and they are awesome! One of the daughters came to church yesterday. Her name is Janet and it seemed like she was a member cause she would go to all the activities and stuff so we just assumed she was haha!

Cool story, we where just cruising down the streets on our bikes and we come to a stop light, and a homeless women asked me for some money. I told her I didn’t but then she asked us if we where Christians, and of course we say yes. She Continued to ask us where our church was and what time it started, and things like that. Then out of the blue she told us about her dad who lives in the Dominican Republic and how he is an engineer who worked on a church building their that put a gold angel on top. I don’t know a whole lot of church that have gold angels on top so I assumed she was talking about our church. Then we gave her a Book of Mormon and she said that her dad had the same book back home. We want t to talk with her again but it’s gonna be hard because she told us she goes around all of Houston a lot, but I know that when she was talking with us she for sure had a come to Jesus moment and we definitely planted a seed in her heart!

We also had MLT on Tuesday and we talked about a lot of good stuff that’s gonna help out the mish in the future!

I also I had an opportunity to catch a little bit of the super bowl. All I have to say is that Tom Brady is old and needs to stop and his game seems to be a little flat😉 I’m Happy the eagles won 🦅

I love being a missionary and I love to serve the lord. Me testimony has continued to grow each day, and I feel the love of Christ more powerful than it was before each and every day! Love you guys and hope you have a great week!

Frozen Houston...

Hey guys sorry for not writing a big letter last week! The email on our I pads are being really dumb and not working so I am not sure of when your gonna get this email but hopefully it gets to you soon!

Well transfers happened again and I am staying here in Broadway! I love it here! The people are so cool and its awesome to be around the Hispanic people here!  I'm excited to see what this transfer has in store! Oh and the Hermanas that i served with in the MTC went home this past week and that made me feel old haha!

Are investigators are doing great! We finally got in contact with our investigator Gilberto! Him and his family have been really sick with the flu and they told us not to come over for a while so we played it cool and they texted us and said for us to come over this week! We are really excited about that!

Other than that the only other big thing that is going on here is that it snowed last Monday and Tuesday and it was really cool to see and what not, but when we hopped on those bikes it sucked... their was ice everywhere, the wind was blowing so it felt like 10 degrees are something like that, and then to top things off everything turned into slush, and the slush mixed in with the dirty streets of Houston was straight nasty haha! but still it was fun :)

I was excited to hear about the new first presidency of the church! I know that President Nelson is a man called of god! We where talking about how president nelson has tons of connections with china, so it should be pretty cool to see what the future has for us! Thank you guys for the emails and everything! Love you guys and have a great week!

Baptism

Hey everyone, hope you guys are doing good! Everything here in Broadway 3 is doing just fine! we had a pretty good week here.

First things first this past week was super cold, and it was awful not gonna lie.  We would have been fine if it wasn't so freaking windy all the time but we got through it like champs haha! We saw lots of good things come from it, and that is all that matters!

Also this week we did a lot of walking because the bike of Elder Eckhardt had some issues.  We where able to find 3 new people to start teaching so that's good! Also we decided to walk around the sketchiest part of our area at 7:30 pm, and that was way fun haha! we talked to some crazy dudes and it was super fun! as far as work goes that is all we really have right now, but we are getting a lot more support from the ward! i am really excited to start working with them more!

I had the opportunity to go back to my old area this week and witness a family that me and Elder Fraley taught be baptized! It was kind of a surprise but we put in so much work with them and when I found out that they wanted to make this change and was soooo excited! The baptism was great and it was awesome to see some of my favorite ward members from Houston 7 again!

Overall this week was pretty bomb! I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a missionary! I was saddened to hear about the passing of President Monson... Really I don't know if I would be out here on a mission today, if it wasn't him making the changes that he did! He not only blessed my life but the lives of  millions! I am so grateful that we have prophets and apostles to lead and guide us today! Love you guys and hope you all have a great week!

Happy New Year...6 more months!

Whats up guys! Sorry I haven’t written in a minute but things here in Broadway have been pretty good!

Well first things first it has been freaking cold here haha. Today was a high of 35 with a windchill of like 20.... we are on bikes too so that has been fun!

Really we haven’t had the chance to talk with people because lots of them are out of town, or they don’t wanna be outside because it’s too cold, but we have definitely seen lots of miracles! We where biking at like 8:00 pm in the cold in the middle of the ghetto and we felt like we needed to go see an investigator. On the way their we felt like we needed to stop by a members store that she owns. We knocked on the door and she opened and said “wow what a miracle, I was about to call you for a blessing, my daughter in in trouble down in Mexico! So we
gave her a blessing and 5 minutes later she got a call and everything was fine! That was pretty cool the was super happy!

On the other hand we have been on a Christmas hangover and ready to start the new year! I’m excited to see what 2018 has in store and I’m excited to make the most of it! Thanks for all the love and support! Love you guys and happy new year!

Felize Navidad

What’s up fam! Hope everyone had a good week, we had a pretty awesome week down here!

We are on bikes and not gonna lie it’s pretty fun, you see some pretty crazy things haha. We have been biking to less active members to see if they are home, because our area has a heck of a lot of less actives. We also have an investigator named Gilberto and he is super cool! His wife is a member but he isn’t and he has been taught by a lot missionaries, so we are trying to help him out little by little.

Other cool things that happened this week was that we where going to do service to help people out that are still recovering from the hurricane and on our way their the exit we had to take was closed and the detour took us into the heart of downtown haha! We got to see some pretty cool things their haha! Then the next day we went and took some pictures but some graffiti, because the stuff they got down here is crazy!

This Saturday we had our ward Christmas and it was off the chains haha! Us missionaries got to sing and we sang Rudolph in Spanish and a famous Christmas song for Hispanics called Mi burrito Sabenero. It was funny we where up their singing and we got the whole le ward singing with the us haha! That’s was pretty funny

On a spiritual side of things this week Elder Eckhardt and I had the opportunity to give about 9 blessings to members and missionaries! As I have been here on the mish the one thing I have noticed is that when you give blessings, you can feel the spirit so strong, and literally the presence of our Heavenly Father. I know without a doubt that we have his priesthood here on the earth.

Love you guys, and hope you have a great week! Feliz Navidad!

Snowing in Houston....

Yooo what’s up guys! Sorry I’ve been super crappy in writing letters... Things here have been pretty busy and what not, but I promise I will do better!

So I was transferred from Houston 7 to Broadway 3, and no lie Broadway is the place to be! My area covers right next to downtown Houston and from our apartment you can see the city skyline and it’s pretty sweet! The area is big and we are on bikes but hope hopefully we will get a car soon haha! Their are two Spanish wards here and they so cool! We went to Broadway 2’s Christmas party and we ate so much haha

So this week was pretty crazy! First off it SNOWED!!!! I thought I was going to go 2 years without seeing snow but I was wrong haha! And after it snowed it got super cold and it was not fun on bikes haha! When it gets cold here you can feel it in your bones and it gets heck a cold! But right now the weather is really nice!

I’m excited to be here in Broadway! I forgot to mention last week that I’m serving again with my boy Elder Lesā! He’s my boss lol but it’s all good he still ain’t a better baller than me ;)

I’m still happy to be here! Being a missionary has taught me a lot of things and I a, so grateful! I know the church is true and the Book of Mormon is the word of god! Also go out and find ways to
#LightTheWorld! Love you guys and have a great week!

Transferred to Broadway...

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven’t written in a bit but things here have been super busy not gonna lie!

Well I have left Houmont Park and I’m now here in Broadway 3! This place is so sick not gonna lie! We are right next to downtown and it’s cool to see! They say this is the promised land for Spanish missionaries because there are a lot of Hispanic people to talk to, so I’m pretty excited about that! My new companions name is Elder Eckhardt! He is a red head from Utah and he’s pretty cool.

I’m gonna miss everyone in Houston 7 no lie... I made so many friends there and I can’t wait to go back and visit them!

Last week we had zone conference and it was super good! President Hewlett talked about how we can become better disciples of Christ and how that can help out investigators! It was super awesome, and their is no better time to do it than right now during #LightTheWorld! I hope you guys are doing it wherever you are!

Sorry I know it’s not a lot but I will have more next week! Love you guys and hope you have a great week!

Making tortillas.....

Hey everyone! Hope you guys had a good week! This week was pretty solid! First off we played soccer last p day against another zone and kicked their butts haha! It was really fun and we had a good time!

This week we where helping out our hermanas a lot with their investigator Daniel. He is the coolest kid I have ever met no lie! He was baptized yesterday and it was awesome! He is teaching me and Elder Fraley how to play soccer, and in return I am going to teach him how to play baseball! He is so cool haha!

We had to have another elder with us for 2 days because his companion had to go back to Utah and sign some papers. He is from the Dominican Republic so that’s why, but we where running around everywhere trying to talk to people so we where pretty busy doing that!

Also this week we learned how to make flour tortillas and papas con juevo and it was so good! I can also make a spicy salsa so you guys can try it when I get home!

Also we had a stake party and one of our investigators Lupe came! She is super awesome and so nice to us! We are like her best friends and he son Ryder is awesome too!

That’s all I really got this week! Love you guys and hope you have a great week! And I’m thankful for all of you and everything you have done for me! Have a great thanksgiving!

Sweater Weather Finally...

Hey everyone! Hope things are going good for you guys! This was a pretty solid week in Houston!

At the beginning of the week I had the opportunity to go on exchanges with another elder which was pretty good! Got to help him out with somethings. It was kind of chilly this week and I got to whip out the sweater! Hopefully it gets colder because I hate the heat so much haha! We also had our ward thanksgiving party which was pretty fun! We had like 8 turkeys and 2 hams and a bunch of other food, but I was disappointed because for a thanksgiving party they had no pumpkin pie and I was super bummed....

This week we played soccer obviously which was fun! The hermanas have a really cool investigator named Daniel and he came and played with us, and he embarrassed the crap out of me like 10 times. I definitely need to improve some of my soccer skills! We get to play another zone this p day in soccer and I’m super hyped for that!

MOVIE OF THE WEEK

Funny story we where trying to find some people to talk to or help out so we went to the store and tried to look for people. Nothing really came out of it, so I went and got a drink and i was paying for it I hear in the background someone say “ hey boo” and I really didn’t think much of it but then I heard it again so I turned around and this black lady was like staring at me and said to me “what’s up boo” and I was nice and said what’s up, but it was super obvious that she was trying to hit on me and I was having none of that so we dipped out of the heir as fast as we could haha!

I have so many things to be grateful for right now! I love being a missionary and I love this gospel! Love you guys and hope you have a great week!

World Series Champions...The Houston Astros

Hey everyone! This week in H-town was of the chains!

First off GO ASTROS! People down here are going nuts! First off they canceled school so people would go to the parade. Didn’t really help us out because literally everyone was gone and we had no one to talk to haha! Then we heard that the check out line at dicks sporting goods was over a 2 hour wait just to get a shirt or something! People are going crazy for them!

On Halloween we had a leadership training that was really good! Our mission is going to change a lot in the future and I am really excited! Great things are coming and that’s exactly what this mission needs!

We have some good investigators right now. Maria Gil has been a little wishy-washy but we are going to talk with her this week!

We had a regional stake conference and it was like a mini general conference! We had the opportunity to listen to Elder Christoferson which was really good! He talked about how we can listen to the prophet even though he has been silent for a little bit. We need to listen to what he has said to us in the past, try and follow his example, and simple things like that. I love him and sustain him!

That’s all I got this week! Love you guys and hope you have a great week!

GO ASTROS....

Hey everyone hope you guys had a good week! Good week here in h-town!

First things first GO ASTROS! Everyone down here is going crazy, and I really hope they win so I can see some people freak out! That would be pretty cool! Anyways the hype is real down here!

Our investigator Maria had her interview for baptism this week and she didn’t pass... She is still legally married but doesn’t live with the dude anymore and she is living with her boyfriend. She did say she wants to get married so she could get baptized so that’s good! She is still coming to church and everything! She is so cool!

Of course we played soccer this week which is always a good time! It was freaking cold last week so I got to pull out the sweater! We had a ward Halloween party and is was pretty fun! Had a DJ and everything, it was pretty cool! I had the privilege to have a district meeting with the AP’s so that was interesting. We got to help make some dope tacos and I am going to have Facebook from now on. That’s really everything that is happening here! Oh and Halloween 🎃

Love you guys! I know this gospel is true and the book is blue haha!

Have a great week!
