No Efforts Are Wasted...

¿Qué pasó? Hope you all had a great week this week! Things here in liberty are good but they are still a little slow...

This week we where trying to help out with some of our less active members. We have four in our area and they are all one family. They are la familia Garcia and they are super awesome! They are super nice and humble but they only struggle with one thing and that's coming to church haha! They really love the missionaries and want to help us out as much as we can!

This weekend we got ourselves a Mini Missionary. A mini missionary is where the stake does this thing with the mission and they assign a kid to come out with us for 2 days and they live the mission life, and see if this is really what they want to do. We got a super good kid named Dorian. Super nice, humble, and a ladies man haha! Our day went pretty good with him I guess... all of the appointments we had fell through and we got dropped by one of our investigators. We also knocked a street and we got 3 doors in a row slammed in our face. Needless to say this is a normal thing for a missionary, but I hop this doesn't make the kid not wanna serve a mission. The one good thing we did with him is service with our less active friend again at his house he is remodeling. We got to wear cool jumpsuits and use a cool paint gun! Helped him out he committed to come to church and didn't show up... It's all right I know it will come to him eventually!

The one thing I really studied this past weekend with our mini missionary is a section in preach my gospel titled "No efforts are wasted." We talked about this because of the unsuccessful day we had on Saturday, and the reason we talked about this with him is that when we are out doing the things that god wants us to do he will help us out in some other way. Even without the success we are helping plant seeds for these people and hopefully they will come to listen to our message in the future! I know that when we try he will bless us in so many ways!

Love you guys, love being a missionary, and hope you guys have a great week!

The Power of Gratitude

Hey everyone hope you guys had a good week! This was just a normal week of missionary work.

Tuesday and Wednesday was just normal days really. Since our area is small and we don't have a lot of Hispanics we tried to contact a lot of old investigators. We got in with some and we will see how it goes with them.

Thursday we had dinner with a recent convert we are trying to get to the temple and that went pretty good. He seems excited, but at the same time we don't know because he was playing Xbox and talking with us at the same time haha! Friday we had a branch Valentine's Day dinner that was pretty good.  Kind of funny they where listening to Spanish love songs in the church and some of the songs made me laugh haha!

We helped out a less active member his week with re-modeling his house. It came in handy since I already know what he was trying to do, so I got to show him some of my skills in that department. We went over there to try and get them to church and talk with their kids about baptism because they are of age and haven't been baptized yet. They want to be baptized but their parents are a little iffy so we'll see what happens with them.  We got them to church this week along with their less a active mom, and brother. It was really good to see them there!

A lot of things have been on my mind this week and the one thing I need to try and do better is be more grateful. I was thinking of that because there are so many great things out there in this world and I don't even realize it. We are so blessed to have what we have. Like I said there have been so many great things come to pass, but the greatest thing that we have is the restored gospel here on the earth for our time. We have the fullness of the gospel in our hands, living prophets and apostles, and we have the priesthood. What more do you need? We need to take advantage of these things and do everything we can so we will be ready for what is to come!

Love you all and hope you have a great week!

Super Bowl Sunday.....

Hey everyone! Hope you guys had a good week this week! Lots of hype around here for the Super Bowl. Kind of mad the patriots won buts it's ok I guess haha! Other than that nothing much is going on here.

Tuesday and Wednesday where days full of missionary work. Talked to some cool pretty interesting people that just make me laugh! The people down here are awesome, but they are very very different from people in Utah. Texas really is its own little country haha!

Thursday and Friday where pretty good days with lots and lots of biking and with some really boring and long meetings haha! Thursday we biked a lot going to eat with a recent convert with lives about 20 miles round trip. All I gotta say is that my legs are sure looking good at this point haha! Friday was our zone meeting and it was about 4 hours long.... There where some good things that where taught but other than that they just went over the new schedule changes that we already knew about and things like that. We got back at like 4:00 did a little work and then played some volleyball ball with some members and investigators.

Saturday was an awesome day! We had the opportunity to go to the temple and do baptisms with Presidente Escobar, and one of the branches recent converts David C. It was really cool and awesome experience for us and David! It was funny when we got inside he asked me if I could take a picture of him in the temple. It made me laugh but I said no and explained some things about the temple.  After that we went and cleaned the church, and then probably had one of the most spiritual lessons with a less active member in our branch. Super cool the video we showed him said it explains exactly what is going on in his life right now! Really cool we all felt the spirit and we are gonna help him out with his situation here in the future. Then we got transfer calls and me and Elder Johnson are both staying one more. Hopefully there is some one here for us!

That's all I got this week. Love you all and hope you guys have a great week!
